Order Out of Chaos?

A Call for Proposals for the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Georgia Political Science Association

Nobel prize-winning physicist Ilya Prigogine said "The irreversibility of time is what brings order out of chaos." From the Arab Spring to the potential collapse of the Euro to the Occupy movement, the political world has felt chaotic. What order created the conditions the led to the emergence of this chaos? What (if any) order will emerge from this chaos? Under the broad theme of “Order out of chaos,” the Georgia Political Science Association is issuing this call for proposals.

Faculty, independent scholars, graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to submit their research for presentation and discussion at the 44th annual conference to be held at the Savannah, Georgia Doubletree Hotel in the heart of the historic district. Papers will be accepted from all subfields of Political Science, Criminal Justice, and related disciplines. Once presented, participants are encouraged to then submit their work to our edited and refereed proceedings, published online once a year. The best presented paper submitted for publication will be awarded the McBrayer Award. Undergraduate research nominated by faculty members will be eligible for the Pajari Award.

The deadline for submissions is July 6, 2012; acceptances will be offered on a rolling basis with panels to be organized no later than Sept. 1, 2012. Send your paper and/or panel proposals to the 2012 Program Chair, Dr. Saundra Reinke of Augusta State University, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
